The Ski Package

Our Jimnys are very capable machines. They're great on gravel roads, including ski field access roads. We are fully insured for public ski field access roads. 

Our Ski Package comes with a roofbox on the top of the car, and a pair of snow chains. The roofbox is lockable and very secure. If offers lots of space for skis, snowboards, jackets and boots. 

ROOFBOX

Driving with a roofbox on the top of the car is effortless, but sometimes there is a slight whistle sound that the roofbox makes. This is fairly standard for roofboxes. 

4 WHEEL DRIVE

As soon as you get on the gravel ski access road, put the Jimny into 4WD. This is done by moving the 4WD selector into 4H. This can be done while you're driving, and a green 4WD icon will then show on the dash. Don't use 4L, this is not suitable for ski access roads.

SNOW CHAINS

Snow chains are not always required on ski field access roads. If they are required, there will be a sign, or someone asking you to put them on. There is always a parking area, to give you space to put them on. These need to be fitted to the rear wheels, and need to be removed before driving on the tarmac roads at the end of the day.
